The GOALs Center

GOALs (Going on After Loss) provides a variety of mental health services to communities experiencing grief. GOALs clinicians also provide training and consultation for educators and mental health providers in GOALs theory and on a range of other topics.

GOALs was initially created as a response to the events of September 11, 2001. GOALs Center founder, Maureen Underwood (LCSW), and two colleagues from Morristown designed a unique series of counseling support groups for families with children who lost a parent that fateful day. In the ensuing years, our initial counseling support program for families expanded into a comprehensive network of mental health services available to families, children and communities in grief.

We invite you - whether you are a family member seeking support, an educator searching for resources, a mental health provider interested in our theory & model, or a supporter considering making a donation - to explore our site and develop a better understanding of why GOALs is such a vital program in the lives of grieving families.
